Profile & Account

Your CruiseCtrl profile is the first thing other users see when they tap your card on the Radar. This guide covers every aspect of editing and managing your profile — from photos and Voice Vibe through to account security, data exports, and full account deletion.

1. Editing your profile

To open Edit Profile, tap your avatar (bottom left of the main screen) and then tap Edit Profile. You can also reach it from Settings → My Profile.

Edit Profile is organised into seven tabs across the top of the screen:

  1. Photos — manage your photo gallery
  2. Basics — name, age, pronouns, gender, headline, bio
  3. Stats — body stats with individual show/hide toggles
  4. Voice — record or re-record your Voice Vibe audio intro
  5. Cruising — accommodation, looking for, kinks, and interaction style
  6. Health — HIV status, PrEP, last tested (all private by default)
  7. Verify — start or re-do the selfie verification

Changes save automatically as you make them — there is no separate "Save" button. You can dip in and out of Edit Profile as often as you like.

2. Photos

CruiseCtrl supports up to six photos on your profile. They are not all visible to everyone in the same way:

Adding photos: in the Photos tab, tap any empty slot or the "+" icon. You can take a new photo with your camera or pick one from your device gallery. Photos are processed and moderated — this typically takes a few seconds. Violations of the photo policy will result in the specific photo being removed; repeated violations may lead to account action.

Removing photos: long-press a photo and tap Remove, or tap the photo to open it in full view and use the trash icon.

Setting a different primary photo: long-press any photo and tap Set as main. The previously primary photo moves to the gallery slot.

All photos are stored on CruiseCtrl's EU-based infrastructure. We do not share your photos with third parties except as described in the Privacy Policy and our sub-processors list.

3. Basics

The Basics tab contains the core information shown on your profile card and full profile view:

4. Stats

The Stats tab contains optional body and sexuality information. Every field has an individual show/hide toggle so you control exactly what is visible on your public profile. None of these fields are mandatory.

Tip: fields that are set to hidden are only ever visible to you in Edit Profile. They will never appear on your public profile to other users, regardless of what device or version of the app they are using.

5. Voice Vibe

Voice Vibe is a short audio intro — up to 30 seconds — that plays on your profile. It is entirely optional but a great way to give potential connections a sense of your personality before any messages are exchanged.

To record a Voice Vibe:

  1. Go to Edit Profile → Voice tab.
  2. Tap the microphone button and hold to record. Release when done (up to 30s).
  3. Play it back to check you're happy with it, then tap Save.

To re-record, simply open the Voice tab again and record a new clip — it replaces the previous one. To remove your Voice Vibe entirely, open the Voice tab and tap Delete recording.

Voice Vibe recordings are visible to all users who view your profile. Keep it friendly and within our Community Guidelines.

6. Cruising preferences

The Cruising tab lets you share what kind of connection or encounter you're looking for. These help other users figure out compatibility quickly. All fields are optional and can be hidden individually.

7. Health tab

The Health tab is designed to support informed, consensual connections. All fields in this tab are private by default — nothing here is shown publicly unless you actively choose to display it.

CruiseCtrl does not validate health information — it is self-reported. We encourage regular testing and honest disclosure, but the choice of what to share is entirely yours. Health data is treated as special-category sensitive data under GDPR and is processed only on the basis of your explicit consent (your act of saving it to your profile). See the Privacy Policy for full detail.

8. Getting the verified tick

Verification proves to other users that there is a real, age-confirmed adult behind the profile. It is optional but unlocks additional features.

To get verified:

  1. Go to Settings → Verification (or Edit Profile → Verify tab).
  2. Follow the prompt to take a clear, face-forward selfie in good light.
  3. The same automated Sightengine age-estimation process used at sign-up runs again. If confident, you're verified in seconds.
  4. If a human review is needed (rare), it takes up to 24 hours. You'll be notified by email.

Once verified, a green ✓ tick appears on your profile card and full profile. It unlocks:

Verification selfies are not stored after the check completes. See Age Assurance for the full technical detail.

9. Profile visibility

Your profile only appears on the Discover Radar when you are actively checked in. Outside of a check-in session, your profile still exists and can be visited via a direct link or Signals/chat, but you won't appear on the grid or map.

10. Changing your email or password

To update your login credentials:

If you signed up with Google, Apple, or Facebook and want to add a direct email/password login, go to Settings → Account → Add password login.

Lost access to your account? Use Forgot Password on the login screen to receive a reset link to your registered email address. If you no longer have access to that email, contact support@cruisectrl.eu.

11. Exporting your data

Under the GDPR, you have the right to receive a copy of the personal data CruiseCtrl holds about you in a portable, machine-readable format. This includes your profile information, messages, Pulse posts, Taps, and usage metadata.

To export your data:

  1. Go to Settings → Your Data → Export.
  2. Tap Request Export. We compile your data into a JSON file.
  3. You'll receive an email with a secure download link within 72 hours (usually much faster). The link expires after 7 days.

You can also submit a Subject Access Request (SAR) by emailing privacy@cruisectrl.eu. We respond to SARs within one calendar month. For complex requests we may extend this by a further two months, and will inform you in writing if so. There is no charge for a SAR.

12. Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your CruiseCtrl account at any time — there are no cancellation fees or waiting periods.

To delete your account:

  1. Go to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account.
  2. Read the confirmation screen carefully. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
  3. Tap Delete my account and confirm with your password (or via biometric if enabled).

What happens after deletion:

If you would prefer to temporarily disappear without deleting your account, use Ghost Mode or simply don't check in. You can also turn off profile visibility in Settings → Account.

To submit a deletion request by email instead, write to privacy@cruisectrl.eu. You may also contact our Data Protection Officer at dpo@cruisectrl.eu for any data rights enquiry.
